The staff were very nice and helpful, room was decent. Nice tv rooms, pool and other areas to socialize.
There was no heater in the room and it was very cold... As the windows did not close very good. Also, there was just one bathroom for too many rooms and no hot water. Breakfast is a joke but afterall you should not expect much from a hostel.

Location is very good. The boss is a good man, but staffs could be more friendly.
To much Noise.

The breakfast provided was a pleasant surprise, with a variety of options including boiled eggs and great coffee. the hostel had great facilities like a living room, dining room, backyard, and lounge/reading room. - the location of the hostel was ideal, as it was close to good restaurants and major attractions.
The atmosphere at the hostel was lacking, especially on a Friday night. the scheduled beer pong event didn't quite create the lively atmosphere we were hoping for.

Price, location & reputation all together made me chose this establishment.
Hot water. Kept going hot/cold/hot/cold which was annoying, but I also felt like it was uneconomical and environmentally unfriendly, cause I spent 2 times more out of the shower... waiting for the hot water to return.

A fee of 4% is charged by the use of credit card. The rooms are very simple, not worth the price.

It´s on a quiet street but convenient to everything. This is a quiet hostel with comfortable beds, new duvets and sheets. I´m a 74-year-old, world backpacker and good sleep is important to me. That was consistent during my 3 week stay. The common areas are separated from the sleeping areas by halls, doors, and stairs. This is not a party hostal but I made many more good friendships than usual because of the good atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and hard-working. Lots and lots of hot water. Every bed has a large wooden private locker. Byo lock. Large comfortable common room with big tv.
It is a little funky, being two older buildings joined together by wandering hallways off of which sprout many dorms, suites and private rooms with a plentitude of bathrooms,as well. But the layout muffles the sound that reaches the bedrooms. The smallish kitchen can be noisy when many people are cooking and eating at the same time. But it is far from the sleeping area. Has Wi.Fi, but needs more working internet computers.

The actual hostel itself we found quite good, the kitchen was clean & well equiped, the staff were helpful & friendly & the common areas were clean & welcoming.
We did not enjoy our stay as much as we could have due to our room. We were appalled by our room we booked, "the appartment, double bed & ensuite"on the third floor. The room smelt so bad possibly from the fifthy carpet, the shower was not clean, first time we had to wear thongs in the 4 months of our trip. The linen appeared clean but the bed was very uncomfortable & unstable. Lastly do not expect to get a hot shower my husband managed (lucky) a couple of times but I experienced cold showers for most of our stay. I would not recommend this room to anybody.

Great value for money, the room was comfortable and had excellent water pressure in the shower. The location was perfect, close to supermarkets, restaurants, and a beautiful leafy park. The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
Menu for breakfast could be improved by ensuring a better restock of the food available.

I recently stayed at Hostal Forestal for a few nights and I couldn't have been happier. The staff was incredibly friendly and the common space was cozy and inviting. The fully equipped kitchen was a great bonus, especially since eating out in Santiago can be quite expensive. The fast wifi and comfy bed made for a pleasant stay, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The social vibes were also a highlight - it was easy to meet and connect with fellow travelers.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

I like the large common space that they have provided for the travelers- there was a huge living room with TV in the 2nd floor, and a pool table/kitchen/dinning area on the first floor. There was also a little semi- outdoor sitting area. I got the "suite" which was the only room on the top floor, so there was no foot traffic. I think it was worth the $54. The shower was tiny but plenty of hot water. Location was EXCELLENT- across the park from Bellevista and close to all the major sites.

I loved the people there, especially the staff. This place has a very warm and friendly energy, and I would stay there again in an instant.
It can be a little noisy at night.
